Presentations on Basel II
The Basel II norms are under discussion among banks and bank regulators for quite some time. Basel II is essentially about allocating capital commensurate with risk. The aim of Basel II norms is to make the banking system more safe and stable. The findings of the IIBF commissioned research studies in this respect have thrown focus on the internal rating of the commercial banks and suggest measures to improve the quality of internal rating systems.
Indian Institute of Banking and Finance has been conducting a series of seminars on Basel – II, with a view to understand the implications of the suggested measures for Banks in India. The seminars aim to articulate discussions on understanding of possible risks and their potential impact, credit risk being one of them.
Some of the presentations made by the speakers at these seminars will be provided on this website from time to time, for the benefit of visitors to this site.
